Alarm Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Alarm Clock app ("the app") handles, why, and the choices you have. The app is published by YOUR_DEVELOPER_NAME ("we", "us").

1. Summary

  • The app has no account, no sign-in and no cloud service of its own.
  • Your alarms, reminders, timers, sleep schedule and settings are stored only on your device.
  • The app shows advertising from Google AdMob. Google collects some device data to deliver and measure ads.
  • The app uses Google Firebase and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the app is used and to find and fix crashes, and Firebase Cloud Messaging and iZooto to send push notifications.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information stored on your device

The following is created by you and kept in the app's private storage on your device. It is not sent to us.

  • Alarms, including labels, times, repeat days, ringtone, volume, snooze settings and background.
  • Reminders, timers, stopwatch laps, sleep schedule and world clock cities.
  • App settings, such as theme and language.
  • Copies of audio files you choose as a custom ringtone. You pick these files yourself through the Android file picker; the app cannot browse your storage.

If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include this data in your device backup or copy it to a new phone. Backups are managed by Google under your Google account settings, not by us.

3. Information sent to our servers

The app contacts our servers to load its advertising configuration, to count installs and to register your device for push notifications. These requests contain the app's package name and, for push notifications, the push token that Firebase Cloud Messaging issues to this installation of the app. As with any internet request, your IP address is visible to the server. The requests do not contain your alarms, reminders, contacts or files. The push token identifies an app installation, not you personally; we use it only to deliver notifications.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show banner, native, interstitial and app-open ads. To deliver, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:

  • the Android advertising ID and other device identifiers;
  • IP address, which can be used to estimate your general (not precise) location;
  • device information such as model, operating system version, language and network type;
  • your interactions with ads and diagnostic data such as crash and performance information from the SDK.

Google is an independent controller of this data. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Analytics and crash reporting (Google Firebase)

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google LLC, to learn which features are used and to diagnose crashes. These services may collect:

  • an app-instance ID and Firebase installation ID, and the Android advertising ID where available;
  • usage events such as app opens, screens viewed and session length;
  • device information such as model, operating system version, language, country (estimated from IP address) and app version;
  • crash reports, including the stack trace and the state of the device at the time of the crash.

See Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Usage analytics and session replay (Microsoft Clarity)

The app uses Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, to see how people use the app so we can improve it. Clarity captures how you interact with the app, including the screens you open, taps, scrolling and gestures, and can reproduce these as a session replay. Because a replay shows the app's screens, content displayed in the app (for example an alarm label) may be captured. Clarity also collects device information such as model, operating system version, screen size, language and an approximate location estimated from your IP address. Clarity does not record other apps, your microphone or your camera.

See the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Clarity's privacy disclosure.

7. Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging and iZooto)

If you allow notifications, the app can receive push notifications such as tips, updates and offers. These are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) and iZooto (Datability Solutions Pvt. Ltd.). To deliver and measure notifications these services may collect:

  • a push token and other device identifiers, which may include the Android advertising ID;
  • IP address, device model, operating system version, language, time zone and app version;
  • whether a notification was delivered, opened or dismissed.

Push notifications are separate from your alarms, timers and reminders, which work on the device without any server. You can stop push notifications at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Alarm Clock > Notifications. See the iZooto Privacy Policy.

8. Your choices about ads

  • Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland): when you first open the app you are asked whether you consent to personalised advertising. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Ad privacy choices.
  • US state privacy laws: where required, the same screen lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising.
  • Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings under Privacy > Ads.

9. Permissions the app uses

10. Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data in Android settings or uninstall the app. On our servers we keep only the push token described in section 3; it stops working when you uninstall the app, and you can ask us to delete it using the contact details below. Analytics, crash, session and notification data is held by Google, Microsoft and iZooto under their own retention periods. To ask for that data to be deleted, contact us and we will pass the request to the provider, or use the controls in your Google account for data held by Google.

11. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Security

All network requests made by the app use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your alarms and settings are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version.
